Job Description

The Head of Finance provides end-to-end leadership of the finance function, ensuring operational efficiency, accuracy, and strong governance. This role sets and executes the company’s financial strategy in line with business objectives, acting as a trusted adviser to the CEO and executive team. Core accountabilities include enterprise-wide risk management across liabilities, investments, and overall exposure; ownership of budgeting, auditing, and capital-expenditure decisions; and strict compliance with IFRS, tax laws, statutory requirements, and internal policies.

Key Responsibilities

Provide leadership, supervision, and management to the finance department to ensure operational efficiency and accuracy.
· Develop, implement, and oversee the company’s financial strategy, aligning resources with business objectives.
· Advise the CEO and executive team with financial strategy recommendations to guide corporate decision-making.
· Perform risk management by analysing the company’s liabilities, investments, and overall financial exposure.
· Oversee all major financial decisions, including budgeting, auditing, and capital expenditure planning.
· Ensure compliance with IFRS standards, tax regulations, statutory requirements, and internal policies.
· Review financial reports and identify methods to reduce costs and improve profitability.
· Maintain full control over financial records, documentation, and reporting frameworks.
· Review, update, and improve financial procedures and internal control systems to strengthen governance.
· Manage relationships with regulators, auditors, banks, and other key financial stakeholders.
· Support business expansion initiatives through due diligence, investment appraisal, and financial modelling

Required Qualifications

Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field. Professional qualification: ACA, ACCA, or CFA (mandatory).
· Must have 7 – 10 years post-NYSC professional experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role.
· Demonstrated experience in financial planning, risk management, and compliance.
· Prior working experience in a Big 4 accounting firm is a strong advantage.
